Answer(s): A
An ineffective or absent cough indicates that air is no longer moving adequately, signifying progression from a mild obstruction to a severe airway obstruction.

Pediatric patients have a proportionately larger tongue and a larger occiput, which can contribute to airway obstruction and affect positioning during airway management.
What patient conditions have an indication for the use of a CPAP device? (Choose three.)
Answer(s): A,B,C
CPAP is indicated for patients with conditions that cause respiratory distress from inadequate oxygenation or ventilation, such as chronic bronchitis, pulmonary edema, and acute bronchospasm, because it helps keep alveoli open and improves gas exchange.
Which of the following assessment findings indicates respiratory failure?
Altered mental status indicates inadequate oxygenation or ventilation affecting brain function, which is a late and serious sign of respiratory failure.
A 30-year-old patient becomes unresponsive after choking. Which of the following should the EMT perform next? (Choose two.)
Answer(s): B,C
When a choking patient becomes unresponsive, chest compressions should be started to help dislodge the obstruction, and the airway should be opened to look for and remove any visible foreign body.
A 7-year-old patient is confused and disoriented. What should the EMT assess to rapidly determine the patient's condition? (Choose three.)
Answer(s): B,D,F
Rapid pediatric assessment uses components of the Pediatric Assessment Triangle, including disability (neurologic status), appearance/response to environment, and skin/mucous membrane condition to quickly determine severity.
A 38-year-old patient is unconscious with slow, shallow, and gasping breaths. The patient is not moving. What should the EMT perform first?
In an unresponsive patient with abnormal breathing, the priority is to immediately assess and manage the airway to ensure it is open and can support ventilation.

52 should be b&c. controller failure has nothing to do with this type of issue. degraded state tells us its a raid issue, and if the os is missing then the bootable device isnt found. the only other consideration could be data loss but thats somewhat broad whereas b&c show understanding of the specific issues the question is asking about.
