Rosa fills five small aquariums with equal amounts of pond water. She places various combinations of fish, plants, and/or snails in each aquarium except A, which contains only pond water. Rosa seals all the aquariums and stores them at room temperature under an aquarium light. The light provides the energy for photosynthesis in green plants and production of food and oxygen.

In which aquarium would the animals live for the longest period?

  1. A
  2. B
  3. C
  4. D
  5. E

Answer(s): C

Daily weather patterns are often the result of temperature differences, patterns of air flow, relative humidity, condensation, or evaporation. A warm front forms when a warmer air mass pushes a cold air mass ahead of it. Precipitation over a large area can occur along a warm front.

Based on this information and diagram, what would most likely happen if a mass of hot, humid air encountered a colder air mass in the northern portion of Earth's surface?

  1. earthquakes
  2. surface fires
  3. rain or snow
  4. tropical breezes
  5. hurricanes

Answer(s): C

Some minerals, including iron, are necessary for plant growth. Other minerals are needed to help the plant use these minerals. Recently, scientists found that nickel is necessary for plants to absorb iron from the soil. Without iron, plants cannot carry on photosynthesis.
What will happen if there is insufficient nickel in the soil?

  1. The plant will use more fertilizer.
  2. The plant will require more heat.
  3. The plant will lose more water.
  4. The plant will produce little food.
  5. Less fertilizer will be necessary.

Answer(s): D

The battery of an automobile produces electricity from a chemical reaction. This electricity leaves the battery from a post called a terminal and is used in starting the engine. Sometimes a crusty deposit forms on the terminals, preventing the engine from starting. Simply cleaning off the deposit often restores the battery to operable condition.

Which effect does the deposit have on the battery terminals?

  1. conducts electricity
  2. improves spark plug firing
  3. causes hazardous sparks
  4. does not conduct electricity
  5. is caused by hard water

Answer(s): D

In the food web shown below, the arrows show the flow of energy through an ecosystem. Each arrow points from a given plant or animal to a second animal; the animal that the arrow points to would get its energy by eating the first plant or animal.
For example, the field mouse is a typical herbivore.

Which statement about herbivores is most accurate?

  1. Herbivores get their energy from dead snakes and hawks.
  2. Herbivores are meat eaters.
  3. Herbivores are plant eaters.
  4. Herbivores eat both plants and animals.
  5. Mice, shrubs, and hawks are typical herbivores.

Answer(s): C

the correct answer to q8 is b. explanation since the mule app has a dependency, it is necessary to include project modules and dependencies to make sure the app will run successfully on the runtime on any other machine. source code of the component that the mule app is dependent of does not need to be included in the exported jar file, because the source code is not being used while executing an app. compiled code is being used instead.
